WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?

Nutritional Therapy is the evidence based application of nutrition science with the purpose of maximising health. It is aimed at both individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their overall health and well-being.

Nutritional Therapists study biomedicine, biochemistry and pathophysiology in the context of health, illness and how food and nutrients interact with the body. They are trained to identify where imbalances originate in the body, which can be the root cause of many chronic ailments, and how the functionality of specific nutrients can restore or enhance health and wellbeing.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Nutritional Therapy utilises the healing power of food, supplements and lifestyle recommendations to target the cause of health concerns, rather than addressing the symptoms. It is a comprehensive approach which considers the whole person, rather than specific organs or bodily systems.

The primary focus of Nutritional Therapy is ‘Food as Medicine’.

Initial consultation (1 - 1.5 hours)

We will discuss your health concerns and health goals. I will take a full case history covering medical records, symptoms, and an in-depth review relating to every system in the body. Following this, I will prepare a naturopathic plan to include diet, lifestyle and supplement recommendations to support your goals.

Follow-up consultation (40 minutes)

We will review your progress after 4 to 6 weeks, including any changes to your symptoms or health goals. Further recommendations will be made and I will provide an updated naturopathic plan. Subsequent follow up appointments can be made as necessary.
